Most people know that Seattle residents do things a little differently, but even this is a little strange. The Seattle Mariners introduced the new Toasted Grasshoppers at Safeco Field and it just so happens that the Mariners sold out of them on opening night.

According to the team and hospitality partner Centerplate, they sold 310 orders or approximately 13 pounds of grasshoppers ate the home opener. The dish has been so popular that the team has a special rush reorder for the insects.
During the games the line has stretched 15-20 people long and a wait time around 20-30 minutes before selling out. They can be purchased in tacos or as a small side for $4. If the first two games are any indication, Centerplate will be seeking many rush orders throughout the season.
