There's more than just new food at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park this year. Phillies fans will also have the opportunity to experience the future of ballpark concessions, Zoom Food.
Zoom Food is a one of kind experience where fans will be able to use self-ordering kiosks to get their desired stadium fare. Located near section 126 behind home plate, Zoom Food takes normal hospitality partner and concessionaire, Aramark, mostly out of the picture.
Instead of the typical waiting in line and ordering at the counter, fans will instead swipe their cards at a kiosk to complete the transaction after the item of their choosing. Then, they will take their receipt to the pick-up counter to receive their order. Soft drinks will be self-service and alcoholic beverages will be received at a designated window.
The new addition will likely drastically improve wait times during pregame and in-between innings. Aramark GM Kevin Tedesco stated that fans can expect transactions to be about a third faster. The Philadelphia-based Aramark's new kiosks will feature only stadium standards for starters to test user experience. Tedesco said that popularity will determine any expansion plans throughout the park.
