On March 5th when the Orlando Soccer Club opened up their 2017 season, supporters were not only treated to a 1-0 victory for their side over NYCFC but also a new stadium and a new game to go with it. Spectra by Comcast Spectacor, that heads up the stadium's food services, has added a stadium specific menu that will feed their fans city pride.
With the new Orlando City Stadium, Orlando SC hopes to make stadium eats an integral part of the gameday experience. “It used to be that stadium food was an afterthought but that's not the case anymore,” said Thomas Anastasia, regional vice president of Spectra.
Many soccer stadiums run into an issue because fans predominantly eat prior to the match or at halftime due to the lack of breaks in the action. With many stadiums offering numerous complex dishes, this creates a cumbersome process. Anastasia explains that Orlando City Stadium will have 4-5 dishes for each of the 12 restaurants that will provide a more pleasurable guest experience.
Spectra rebooted the menus and added flare from the region. “Florida is really a melting pot,” Anastasia said. “There’s really no one flavor that reflects Florida.” The new menus will have a mix of Latin-influenced choices as well as your standard stadium favorites.

Stadium goers can grab a meatloaf burger, charcuterie plate, or street truck tacos if it strikes their fancy. Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships, Rob Parker, is a fan of the Cuban Bowl, which features carnitas and picadillo that goes on rice and beans. “It really gives you a real hearty meal - different than a hotdog,” Parker said.
The new digs do not stop at food but extend to beverage options as well. Florida brews such as Cigar City Brewing and Crooked Can Brewing Co. will be featured along with other craft brews in a special section. Supporters can also grab a cocktail, including Anatasia’s favorite, “The Kingston,” which concocts Bulleit Rye Whiskey, vermouth, sherry and chocolate and orange bitters.
Founded in 2015, Orlando City SC played their first two seasons in Camping World Stadium in Orlando before moving to their new venue. Fans can grab tickets for the team next home match on Saturday, March 18th and all home matches at orlandocitysc.com.
