Shoo Fry being Philly’s first poutine restaurant is reason enough to check it out. Poutine, Sliders, and Shakes - could you really want any more than that? Why not exactly close to the Wells Fargo Center, it is open late (3am) on the weekends.
Nic's Place | Oklahoma City
Google “best burgers in Oklahoma City” and no doubt Nic’s Grill will jump to the top of that list. The 17-seat counter restaurant dominated the rankings, and its long lines kept patrons thirsting for me. After 20 years of being in business, Nic opened his second spot. Part diner, part speakeasy. Now it’s a little bit easier to try his burgers, but not by much.
Commonwealth | Miami
Dwyane Wade is probably a little sad he left South Beach because he’s missing Commonwealth the hot new restaurant concept to hit Miami. It features over 120 different types of whiskey, scotches, and bourbons, plus food like ‘Duck Fat Fries.' Mmm
B' Cracklin BBQ | Atlanta
You’ll have to escape downtown, but this BBQ getaway is worth the trip. Moving west from Savannah, B’s has been on list after list of best BBQ restaurants in America. The amateur pit master turned professional in 2014 and hasn’t looked back since.
Pie Tap Pizza Workshop | Dallas
Located just a short drive to American Airlines Center, this new Dallas pizzeria has a little bit of everything. Thirty-five taps for local beer, wine and cocktails, pasta made from scratch and of course amazing pizzas that begin with dough that takes 96 hours to make.
Beaver's | Houston
Yes, there is another restaurant on Westheimer, but this one is worth it. BBQ, Tacos, Po’Boys, gourmet Mac n’ Cheese, and ginormous burgers only tell part of the tale. Not hungry? Then grab a drink and play giant Jenga or cornhole.
Wayfinder Beer | Portland
Take a step into this nearly 9,000 square feet warehouse turned beer hall and you’ll know right away something is a bit different. Balsamic Flank Steak, Bone-in Half Chicken, Grilled Lamb, Lemon Thyme Trout all come off the Wood Grill after 5pm. Wayfinder is a short walk (or bike ride) from the Moda Center.
Almanac Tap Room & Beer Garden | San Francisco
Almanac Beer is stepping into the food space with their new Taproom and Beer Garden in Mission. Expect plenty of reasons to come back with a constantly rotating selection of Almanac beers and a seasonal menu. What won’t change is the year-round beer garden.
The Nomad Truck | Los Angeles
Good luck catching this food truck. The famous New York establish makes its foray in the LA market on wheels. The truck will be parked in a different spot each month as they partner with a different iconic LA chef for their own take on NoMad’s famous chicken burger. Harold’s Meat + Three in Lower Manhattan is the return of Harold Moore who closed neighborhood favorite Commerce. Be ready to get out the American Express when you come through, Prime Rib, Curried Lamb Shank, even the Cheeseburger is on the pricier side.
